At Selah Publications, our mission is to invite women to pause, reflect, and thrive through faith-based resources. Our commitment is to provide beautiful, high-quality, and biblically grounded publications that support women in their faith and reflect the importance of cultivating rhythms of joy and rest through all walks of life.
SEH’-LA an expression occurring frequently in the Psalms, thought to be a liturgical or musical direction, probably by the leader to raise the voice or perhaps an indication of a pause.
The word "Selah" appears frequently throughout the Bible, particularly in the book of Psalms. Its exact meaning is uncertain, as there are many interpretations, but it is most commonly expressed as a musical instruction. Some scholars suggest it indicates a pause, a moment of reflection, or a musical interlude in the psalm. Therefore, it can be a direction for the reader or singer to pause and consider what has just been said or sung.
In our fast-paced world filled with constant demands and distractions, finding moments of true rest can seem like a far-off dream. Yet, the scriptural wisdom found in the word "Selah" invites us to pause, reflect, and find rest in the midst of life's busyness.
As Christians, we take part in many different spiritual disciplines such as prayer, fasting, tithing, but too often enough the sacred practice of rest falls to the wayside. God, our Creator, rested after the universes’ creation, and Jesus himself understood the importance of pausing. In Mark 6:31, He says to His disciples, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." So clearly, even in the midst of Jesus’ highly successful and busy ministry, He recognized the deep need for intentional moments of solitude and communion with God.

Meet the Founder
Kate Sheets is a writer and teacher with a heartfelt passion for witnessing women's lives transformed by the profound realization that they are deeply cherished by a God who is as authentic and personal as He is mighty and great. Her ultimate mission is to help reveal the goodness and love of Jesus Christ in all she does and encourage women from all walks of life to do the same. Kate has worked in both youth and women’s ministries for over a decade, and since 2016, still faithfully and lovingly serves with Southern Grace Ministries in Franklin, TN.
Ever since she could remember, Kate has aspired to create a platform that celebrates and shares the wonder of God's Word in a beautiful and tangible way. Selah Publications is the embodiment of that vision, bringing to life stunning, high-quality, and biblically rich print resources. Kate is incredibly excited to share this journey and her God-sized dream by officially launching Selah Publications this fall and delivering these inspirational resources into the world.
Kate resides outside of Nashville, TN with her husband and their two precious boys. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, trying new recipes, taking pottery classes, and snuggling up to a good book.
